This video has complacency dedicated to the Comeng EMU trains. The trains give me a tour of some of the LCD refurbished Comeng EMU trains. They were built between 1981 and 1984 and were made by their former operator Metro Trains and rebranded by their operator Connex. The old Hitachi EMU trains were built between 1972 and 1981 by Martin & King. They’re actually the only ones on the suburban network to be retired by 2006. Although the Comeng EMU cars were built, they were regularly the only runs on the suburban network, and rebranded from Connex to Metro trains. In late April 2014, the Hitachi EMU trains ran a farewell tour on the Sunbury, South Morang and Craigieburn lines. They were not refurbished and they were transferred with other Melbourne trains. The new High Capacity Metro HCMT EMU trains entered service in 2020 and most of the surviving Hitachi EMU trains were then retired. Unlike the old Hitachi EMU trains, they have opening doors so you can walk including the free attaching movement from one carriage to another carriage.
