READ FIRST : First of all I have to thank my wife for being extremely patient with me the past few weeks as I have recorded, re- recorded, and re-re-recorded these 6 tracks. I again would also like to thank my friend Brock ( / ruffneck101 ) who did all of the video recording and editing. Now on to business... For this medley I wanted to use all of my guitars, and not just for the sake of using them but really try to push a certain tone or style to fit the song. This ended up with me having a grand total of 32 tracks. (19 Guitar/Bass, and 13 VST). Aquaduct Assault (0:07) The build up made it a very easy intro song. It took a little practise to play the different rhythm sections but in the end it worked out great :) Amiss Abyss (0:58) Not the easiest song to switch over to guitar but the build up potential was crazy. (I love the hook around 1:24, and cannot believe that camera angle worked in the fishtank!) Windmill Hills (1:58) Probably my favorite song David Wise has ever done. It was definitely a key factor in deciding to do this medley. Also my first time recording acoustic guitar.I will be doing a lot more in the future. Rodent Ruckus (Rocket Barrel Theme) (2:56) Funnest song to play hands down! This is the song I had the hardest time to figure out by ear (had to get my Dad to help figure out the bass). It is all over the neck on both bass and guitar. All of the Rocket Barrel theme's stood out to me but the Rodent Ruckus version was by far my favorite. Busted Bayou (3:28) This is one of the catchiest and grooviest songs in the game, as well as one of the most memorable. I was going to try to add heavy guitars at the end but decided to just improvise on bass guitar a little instead. Definitely fits better and was more fun. Wayyyy out of my comfort zone. Homecoming Hijinx (4:50) The only problem with taking on an epic track like this is being able to make it your own while keeping the energy, big shoes to fill but hopefully I did it justice. The dueling guitars scene was done on the 3rd try all in one take. I can't believe it worked out the way it did and am very happy with the results.
