Episode 4 If you're wondering where episode 3 is, I have a good explanation for why it's missing and won't be uploaded. My computer houses an RTX 3070 graphics card and I use an Elgato HD60 S to record my Switch and Switch 2 games. The software I use is Elgato's Game Capture HD. The recording software works flawlessly, but only under certain conditions: because Elgato discontinued updates to Game Capture HD awhile back, the program is only compatible with older GPU drivers. As far as I'm concerned, 460.89 is the last RTX 3070 driver that works perfectly with Game Capture HD. If I try to record while I have a newer GPU driver installed, the recordings will be botched. The audio is fine but any video playback past 45 minutes to an hour isn't recorded and the same 1-2 frames are repeated until the file ends. This means is I have to uninstall newer GPU drivers (which are required for more recent games like Monster Hunter Wilds) and reinstall my old 460.89 RTX 3070 driver if I want to record Switch and Switch 2 games normally. Unbeknownst to me, Windows Update (for Windows 10, at least) underwent some changes around late July to mid-August. For some reason, Windows Update would automatically install newer GPU drivers in the background. Even though I did my usual routine of uninstalling newer GPU drivers and reinstalling driver 460.89, Windows Update apparently stealth-installed a new one in the middle of me recording Episode 3. Episode 3 became unsalvageable. It was only afterwards that I did some research and found out Windows Update was the culprit. After finding out a way to permanently disable Windows Update, I never had this problem again. This had already happened to me when I first fired up Donkey Kong Bananza. The Episode 1 currently uploaded is actually me wiping my save file and restarting the game after I found out the original recording was ruined. I was pretty bummed out the first time, and even more bummed out now that I finally sank my teeth into the game and lost some fun hours of playtime. Maybe one day I'll go back and replay and record the Canyon Layer on a different save, but it'll never be the same as the first time.
