CAMMINO CELESTE 5: Masarolis - Montemaggiore (26,5 km) 29/07/2022 ================================= Playlist del Cammino Celeste:    • Cammino Celeste   ================================= ================================= Playlist del Cammino di San Benedetto:    • Cammino di San Benedetto   ================================= Per evitare altre possibili distrazioni dovute a stanchezza decidiamo da oggi di applicare la “regola del montanaro” in modo rigoroso: 55 minuti di cammino e 5 di sosta senza mai saltare un colpo. Consiglio di seguirla, a noi si è rivelata molto utile. Anche perchè quella di oggi è una delle tappe più lunghe e con maggiore dislivello. Partiamo dal centro parrocchiale di Masarolis prendendo un sentiero nei boschi dopo il cimitero che in breve tempo ci porta a Tamoris. Successivamente con un percorso misto di asfalto e sterrato arriviamo a Prossenicco, dove mangiamo velocemente all'osteria il Centro. Abbiamo anche visitato brevemente il museo della civiltà della contadina nei pressi della chiesa. Dopo pranzo riprendiamo il percorso, superiamo il cimitero per poi imboccare una scorciatoia nel bosco non molto battuta con erba alta, chi non vuole farlo può proseguire su strada bianca. Poi si passa a un tratto di asfalto proprio sul confine fra Italia e Slovenia e superato un altro lunghissimo percorso in pietrame non proprio gradito ai miei piedi giungiamo alla deviazione che porta al Rio Bianco. Si tratta di un bellissimo e suggestivo anello che consiglio assolutamente di percorrere e che ha come meta finale il paese di arrivo: Montemaggiore. Sono presenti dei massi lungo la strada che ostruiscono la via ma quando l’abbiamo percorso noi non presentava assolutamente problemi di percorribilità. Arrivati al Rio Bianco il panorama è veramente bello, uno dei miei preferiti nel cammino. Eravamo in un periodo di siccità, immagino che in una stagione con più acqua sia ancora meglio. Arrivati al paese mangiamo alla trattoria Montecarlo e passiamo la notte alla Vrata Gialla diMartina e suo papà Roberto che ci hanno veramente accolto in modo fantastico, ancora grazie! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To avoid further possible distractions due to fatigue, we have decided, starting today, to strictly apply the "mountaineer's rule": 55 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of rest, without ever skipping a beat. I recommend following it — it proved very useful for us. Especially because today's stage is one of the longest and with the greatest elevation gain. We depart from the parish center of Masarolis, taking a path through the woods after the cemetery, which quickly leads us to Tamoris. Then, with a mixed route of asphalt and dirt road, we reach Prossenicco, where we eat a quick meal at the “Il Centro” tavern. We also briefly visited the Museum of Rural Civilization near the church. After lunch, we resume our journey, pass the cemetery, and take a little-used shortcut through the woods with tall grass — those who prefer can continue on the gravel road. Then we hit a stretch of asphalt road right on the border between Italy and Slovenia. After another very long rocky path — not particularly kind to my feet — we reach the turnoff to the Rio Bianco. It's a beautiful and evocative loop trail that I absolutely recommend taking, with the final destination being the village of arrival: Montemaggiore. There are some boulders along the road that block the way, but when we went through, the trail was perfectly passable. Once at the Rio Bianco, the view is truly beautiful — one of my favorites along the way. We were going through a dry spell, so I imagine it would be even more spectacular in a wetter season.
