Sometimes, as photographers, we're unable to maintain dynamic range or prevent blown highlights in our images. Blown highlights (sometimes also known as hotspots, over-exposures, blowouts) are glaring white areas with no image detail. Even by shooting Raw it can be virtually impossible to recover details from extremely blown highlights. This video demonstrates how to repair and restore details into blown highlights using a variety of Photoshop tools; including the Healing Brush, Lasso and Content Aware Fill, the Brush Tool, the Clone Stamp Tool & assorted other filters and layer adjustments.
