Our guest today is Dr. Kenneth Dekleva. Dr. Ken is a practicing psychiatrist in Dallas, Texas, and a senior fellow at the George H.W. Bush Foundation for US-China Relations. He has also served as a US diplomat and regional medical officer (psychiatrist) with the US Department of State overseas. Apart from that, Ken has served in a leadership role as director of the US State Departments worldwide and the Diplomatic Mental Health Program. Ken has been published on several platforms, including the Diplomat, 38 North, Cipher Brief, and the Journal of the American Academy Of Psychiatry and the Law. He has also been interviewed by various news outlets, including CNN, NPR, and Voice Of America. He is a retired Army officer with multiple deployments to Afghanistan and years of negotiation field experience. He has taught negotiations at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, Tufts University, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Military Academy, where he founded the West Point Negotiation Project. Additionally, he is a Senior Affiliated Trainer with Vantage Partners working with Fortune 500 companies on real-world negotiations. Nolan Martin is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. He is an Army officer with multiple deployments to both Afghanistan and Iraq in conventional and Special Operations units. As he begins to transition from Active Duty, he plans to become a Financial Planner helping other West Point graduates plan for their retirement.
