Sandcastles

I wrote this song as a reflection on how easy it is for people to misread their own ambitions and intentions. We chase big ideals, thinking we are about to fly, only to discover that we misunderstood the climb and end up back on the beach, building fragile sandcastles while the tide slowly washes them away. To me, the song is about perspective and humility. Sometimes what we believe are grand journeys turn out to be small detours shaped by our imperfect understanding. Yet even in that realization there is something human, and almost peaceful about it, because life keeps moving like the tide, and we keep trying again.
