On 19–20 April 2025, the Ajuongnäär community made history by hosting its first-ever cultural event in the United States—a vibrant celebration held at the Empire Event Centre (Best Western), 1517 16th Street SW, in Rochester, Minnesota. The two-day occasion brought together members of the Ajuongnäär community, brothers and sisters from Twic East, Bor County, and friends from across the USA. This historic gathering honoured our shared heritage and cultural identity through traditional dances, oral storytelling, and the official launch of the Ajuongnäär Women’s and Role Model Girls’ uniforms—a proud symbol of dignity, unity, and leadership among South Sudanese women in the diaspora. 🎥 Captured by Ajakguong Media, this video showcases the elegance, pride, and cultural adoration of Ajuongnäär women and young girls as they take the stage in their beautifully crafted uniforms for the very first time.
