Hi there, my name is Yev and I’m a Ukrainian American music artist. I'm joined by my bandmates Tony, Lev, and Elliott for our first ever Tiny Desk contest performance sharing my newest song "Love Blooms." Last year I was awarded the 2023-2024 Cedar Commissions by The Cedar Cultural center, sponsored by the Jerome Foundation. “Love Blooms” is one of the 6 new songs written for this project, inspired by stories of a local Ukrainian refugee and injured war veteran, shining a light on defining moments in the lives of those both scarred and strengthened by conflict. My song is a hopeful reminder that even amidst war and destruction, people are finding love and reason to live through the most difficult times.
