Here the deities approve for alto and basso continuo Published (an octave higher, and without the ritornello, Z 339/3c) in the first book of 'Orpheus Britannicus' (London: Henry Playford, 1698) ___ Drew Minter, countertenor Mitzi Meyerson, harpsichord Recorded in September 1990 Pitch: A = 415 Hz ___ The score featured in this video is from 'Orpheus Britannicus', where there is no indication of repeat, while in the ode and in this recording, the first strain (bars 2 to 7) is performed twice, and the piece is entirely repeated as a ritornello. I have therefore edited this score to make it fit the performance. This video was originally posted on my MehdiCaps account.
