First of all let’s Locate the Tigray region -It is in the most northern region of Ethiopia. Now let’s understand it’s geopolitics in a minute. Ethiopia is a country in Africa, Precisely located in Horn of Africa. Ethiopia has 9 states With different ethnicity it is a federal democratic republic. It has provided autonomy to some states, One among them is Tigray. Tigray region is ruled by TPLF- stands for Tigray people’s liberation font, a military & Politically powerful entity. Earlier they refused to join the new, ruling party of Abiy Ahmed & put many allegations on the Prime minister. How the situation worsen? -Situation Escalate to violence on 4th of November With an alleged attack by TPLF On Northern command headquarters of the Ethiopian national defence force. Event in short -The central government of Ethiopia is not synced with state government of Tigray. Since The region has autonomy it has its own paramilitary squad. After the situation escalate it to violence Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed ordered brutal crackdown on TPLF Malicious In order to recapture Tigray region. Also TPLF alleged that Eritrea is backing Ethiopian Govt. Eritrea which is located in the north of Ethiopia. What is the situation now? -Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Declared that war is over.. but may be it is too soon to declare cause TPLF is still threatening to fight back soon! Consequences of war- More than thousand people have died and more than 40,000 people from the region have fled across the border in Sudan. People in the region has no food to eat and no water to drink.
