Kelley Minty serves as the Chair of the Klamath County Board of Commissioners, representing Position 2. Originally from the Willamette Valley, she moved to Klamath Falls to begin a 12-year career as a television broadcast journalist before transitioning into public service. She spent five years as the Communications and Outreach Manager for the non-profit Citizens for Safe Schools and was first elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2014. During her tenure, Minty has focused on economic development and public health, including her work with the Blue Zones Project and her appointment to the Oregon Business Development Commission. Most recently, she has advocated for state funding through House Bill 4086 to support industrial infrastructure and initiatives designed to turn local waste into economic resources. She is currently seeking re-election for the May 2026 primary as a non-affiliated candidate. Beyond her role on the Board, Minty serves on several state-level bodies, including the Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission and the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission. She is also a Trustee for Oregon Institute of Technology and serves as a liaison for various county departments such as Planning, Building, and Solid Waste.
