The owner of this home in Greenbank was looking to take control of their energy consumption and secure their energy independence. With a decent energy draw and desire to set up the home for an electrified future, this customer was looking for a complete energy system overhaul. When our customer first approached Springers Solar, they had a 5kW solar system and were a single-phase site. This customer had clear goals: secure energy independence and blackout protection for the home, and set it up to be a multi-EV household.  With these clear goals in mind, our design and engineering team planned a system that would tick all of the customer’s goals. The foundation of this new system was a three-phase upgrade to the home. Our team worked with Energex & the customer’s energy retailers to get a three-phase connection to the property, the home’s connections rewired, and a new energy meter installed. This upgrade was essential to maximising the solar and inverter capacity for this property. One of the main goals this customer had for their system was to gain blackout protection for the home. The three-phase upgrade to the home allows the customer to have more circuits backed up in the event of a blackout.
