Summary of proceedings, 19 October 2009, Bahar Idriss Abu Garda before Pre-Trial Chamber I. Following the issuance of a summons to appear on 17 May 2009, Bahar Idriss Abu Garda appeared voluntarily before the Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court in The Hague on 18 May 2009. He is allegedly responsible for three war crimes committed in Darfur, Sudan. Pre-Trial Chamber I is composed of Judge Silvia Steiner, Presiding Judge, Judge Sanji Mmasenono Monageng and Judge Cuno Tarfusser. In the courtroom is a series of videos that aims at making the proceedings before the International Criminal Court (ICC) more accessible to the public. This video was produced in 2009 by the Public Information and Documentation Section of the ICC, for non-profit and educational purposes.
