Correction: Douglas Adams passed away in May 2001; not September. Apologies. Update April 2024: I made a series of related errors regarding the publication dates of the American Trade paperbacks and which covers were used. Simply getting some dates wrong wouldn't have been that big a deal but unfortunately I launched into a whole digression about design aesthetics and later created a chart trying to "clarify" the publication order and it was all wrong... I think. I'm having a hell of a time figuring out what order various prints were actually released in... I don't want to take the video down; I'd rather do a corrected update once I have all the needed info. In the meantime, if you're stumbling upon this and there's no link to a correction, assume my timeline is stupidly, embarrassingly wrong. Sorry. First I bought a whole bunch of copies of the same book because I was obsessed with whether Douglas Adams thought the Earth orbits at 98 or 92 million miles from the sun... and then I just wanted to talk about art and fonts and stuff. Correction: the art on 90s CGI 42-square cover (re)discussed starting at one hour 4 minutes was by Kai Krause. For reasons unknown I said 'Kris' in the video despite reading off a script right in front of me. Apologies.
