It focuses on the lesser known subject of Buddha Cārikā or the Sublime Wanderings of the Buddha, in a new perspective of – Places, Routes & Rituals, as has been beautifully described in the 7th century A.C. descriptions of Master Xuanzang. We have divided the Buddha Cārikā into 17 thematic stories or episodes. The episode which is being released today mainly explores the events and places in the life of Bodhisattva Siddhartha at Uruvela or the present Bodhgaya, especially on the day of his enlightenment. The episode is the result of years of hard work put-in by our entire team. The episodes to follow will be revealing the other important places connected to the life of the Buddha and his principal disciples, and also the routes and rituals related to these. The documentary series is a historical mission of a social impact campaign to showcase a large number of lesser known and unknown Buddhist heritage sites and assist in the revival of the sanctity and glory of these places, as was mentioned by Master Xuanzang in his meticulous travel accounts. The Series is a humble tribute to Bodhisattva Xuanzang, the great world citizen and a cultural giant, for his extraordinary contributions to the mankind. May his legacy live forever and may he become a household name, the world over, for his unmatchable contributions to the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. We are blessed to have taken this initiative for raising awareness towards a very valuable contribution of Master Xuanzang. But a gigantic Dharma work of this nature which involves huge expenses cannot be completed without the support of the devout.
