Leh Violence Inquiry Begins: Justice Chauhan to Probe Sept 24 Clashes | News9

The judicial inquiry into the September 24 Leh violence has officially begun at the Alternate Dispute Redressal Centre in Melongthang, Leh. Led by retired Supreme Court judge Justice B.S. Chauhan, the commission will record statements from victims’ families, eyewitnesses, and aggrieved parties until October 28. The probe follows the deadly clashes between protesters and security forces that left four civilians dead, including a Kargil war veteran, and nearly 90 injured. The commission will examine the police response, the sequence of events, and the resultant loss of life. Meanwhile, Ladakh representatives have also met the Home Ministry in Delhi, pressing for the release of climate activist Sonam Wangchuck, currently in Jodhpur jail under the NSA. ..............................................................................................
