Republic Services Garbage Trucks Collecting Heavy Post Christmas Trash + Recycling

The week after Christmas, I decided to check out some of Republic’s manual areas to see how heavy it would be and I was not disappointed. Since I filmed several different trucks and it will take a while to post all the videos, I decided to make a compilation of what I was able to catch. The day after Christmas, I was able to film trash collection primarily in the Schertz area and I then went back that following Saturday for recycle. Towards the end of the video is where all the noteworthy stuff takes place. The PTO on one of the Heils would not work resulting in the crew not being able to run the blade so they removed a bunch of recycling out of the hopper into another Heil that came by. Three guys then jumped onto one truck and flew through the rest of that neighborhood. They still had another neighborhood to do after that but it was so heavy that they only did a portion of it before calling it a day and leaving the rest full. The Granite was almost full and an MR McNeilus showed up as well but that crew had worked their maximum number of hours for that week and couldn’t collect more. The other crew said the MR was too slow to run the rest of the route so both trucks ended up calling it a day around 4:30 PM and left the rest of the route down.
