We spent time at Dairy Road to learn about the various efforts that Molonglo Group have taken to design residences that will bring landscape to the forefront to create a place that is healthy for people, safe for the nearby wetlands, and wildlife friendly. Dairy Road is a regenerative project on a 14-hectare site in Canberra, between the industrial suburb of Fyshwick and the Jerrabomberra Wetlands. The future vision for Dairy Road is for an interconnected neighbourhood where many often-separated parts work together in one eccosystem. The residences, designed by architect David Chipperfield, will support those that want to be immersed in landscape, live modestly and ecologically. We were impressed by the efforts to control runoff water into the wetlands, the ecofriendly lighting, and the reuse of soil for rammed earth structures. How would we think about the environment if we lived within it rather than separated from it? Looking forward to seeing this project continued and completed. #molonglogroup #dairyroad #morethanhumandesign #regenerativedesign #architecture #canberra #designthinking #jerrabomberrawetlands #davidchipperfield #wildlifeconservation #housing #propertydevelopment #landscapeasprotagonist
