What started off as a nice sunny drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway through North Carolina turned into a zero visibility white out as I got to the Craggy Dome hiking trail. That was until I had an epiphany that got me to appreciate the force of nature and the resilience of plants and the flora in the area to adapt to living in harsh conditions year round.
