Big Boutique Trades and OOP Box Sets | August Collection Update

What's up, collectors! It’s time for another collection update. August turned out to be a great month for the collection thanks to a mix of subscriber gifts, boutique hauls, and two big trades I was able to make. In this video, I’m going through everything new that hit my shelves this month—some I’ve mentioned in other videos, and some you’re seeing here for the very first time. Things kicked off with some incredibly generous gifts, including Schindler’s List in Universal’s gorgeous Essentials Collection packaging and StudioCanal’s Kind Hearts and Coronets, which made for a perfect double bill with The Lavender Hill Mob. From there, the Arrow Video sale pulled me deeper into Claude Chabrol territory with both Twisting the Knife and Lies and Deceit box sets. Flicker Alley also sent over their Champagne and Caviar collection of early German films, while Umbrella Entertainment wowed me with two stunning 4K releases. The big story this month, though, comes from two boutique trades. I picked up three Flicker Alley noirs and Radiance’s surrealist Viva la Muerte from fellow collector ‪@JefferyEPetrone‬ . And I finally scored the long out-of-print Die Gothic: Japanese Ghost Stories Vol. 1 box set in a trade with fellow YouTuber ‪@steelbookobsessed‬.
