Among groves of towering coconut trees in Keeladi, a village in Tamil Nadu, lie a set of trenches that hold a wealth of information about India's past. At the site, embedded within layers of soil, are ancient artefacts such as broken terracotta pots or the remnants of a brick structure. Experts from the state's archeology department say that these artefacts are 2,000-2,500 years old, the oldest dating back to 580 BCE or the 6th Century BCE. The BBC’s Cherylann Mollan visits this ancient site to explore these discoveries, which, experts say, are reshaping existing narratives about the civilisation of the Indian subcontinent. #keeladi #tamilnadu #keeladivillage #ancientindiancity #oldartefacts Click here to subscribe to our channel 👉🏽 https://bbc.in/3whmDp3 ----------------------------------- This is the official BBC News India channel.
