Shear revival’s Northern Lights is a phenomenal product and probably one of the best products for people with thin, straight hair (like the one shown in the video). ***keep in mind that this review is based on its performance on fine, straight hair only. In all honesty, this product does NOT work well for styling coarse, wavy/curly hair. Nostalgic Grooming’s Moon Paste Firm however is another paste that I WOULD recommend for people with coarse, wavy/curly hair. We’ll hopefully do a review of that one in the near future… Presentation- Oh boy… Well, the jar that's shown in this video comes in a very nice and inspired looking labeling. The thing is, that's their “old packaging”. They have actually updated their packaging and labeling on all of their products as of last year, and I personally am not a fan. Scent- very fresh citrusy scents. Definitely one of my favorite citrus scents Consistency- pasty consistency. Not the smoothest thing you'll ever scoop, but also not difficult to scoop and break down at all. Application- very smooth application. People with coarser hair might feel a slight bit of tug since this paste does contain clay in it, but it still promises an easy application. Strength- light to medium hold. Stays true to how it is advertised. Control- very good control. Texturizing and creating separation in the hair with this is such a charm. Shine- natural sheen/ matte Slickness- little slickness Endurance- decent endurance. Its presence will definitely remain throughout the day. Hardness- won't harden. Very malleable. Restyleability- very good restyleability Rinsability- comes out with just water Buildup quality- you will feel a slight buildup over time. However, the buildup from this product feels light and refined and will never feel gunky or gross. It also definitely conditions the hair well.
