Natalie McDaniel, the wife of former Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren, reached a plea agreement with prosecutors on Monday that lowered her criminal trespassing felony charge to a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Saffold sentenced the 47-year-old McDaniel to two years of probation and no contact with the victims. She is also required to see a mental health professional in the next month. McDaniel has been the subject of multiple controversies over the last year, but she was charged for allegedly walking uninvited into a home displaying a "Recall Seren" sign in their front yard. The ordeal came in the middle of what turned out to be a successful campaign to remove her husband from office. Monday's plea hearing was supposed to be short and straightforward. Instead, it turned into an hourslong process, with Saffold saying what happened in court was something he'd never seen in his 25-year career.
