Grayslake Flea Market! Chicagoland's Secret Flea?!

In today's episode, I happily take you with me as my whole family attends the Grayslake Flea Market (for only the second time ever)! The first time I ever attended this Flea Market was in the Fall of 2024 and I really enjoyed it! It seems to be more of a "secret" (less highly marketed) than some of the more popular flea markets in Wisconsin and Chicago proper that I've heard so much about. It's a flea market which takes place at the Lake County Fairgrounds, which is in Grayslake, Illinois and very close to the Wisconsin border. You get vendors from Wisconsin and Chicago and it's more of a "Mom and Pop" vibe than some of the Chicago-proper flea markets like the more high-end, highly curated, Randolph Street Market (which I LOVE) and the Chicago Vintage Market over the holidays. Some things are more affordable and some things still have high price tags (which are usually warranted for the item). The Elkhorn Flea in Wisconsin I have NOT ever been to, so I'm not able to compare it to that, but comment below if you have! I enjoy the wide range of styles and the eclectic mix of vendors ranging from great finds at $1.00 to a plethora of toys, to high end estate sale jewelry, and rugs in the thousands of dollars range. It's like thrifting and antiquing wrapped into one! It's also a pleasure for me to support small businesses that aren't likely to participate in bigger flea markets in the city. Almost all of the vendors were very willing to negotiate - even on the first day of the market! I'd say there is something for everyone...(I can confirm 5 year olds will find it thrilling)!
