🔽 Click "...more" below for information and timestamps --- In this tutorial, learn how to fully take advantage of the Flair shader material to stylize your 3D animations and break free from physically-based shading. First, you will learn how to use the `mat` shelf button to speed up working with materials in the Maya viewport to fully concentrate on stylizing your scene and not on finding the right materials in the Hypershade. Once the material selection workflow is optimized, the Flair shader material anatomy with its settings and attributes is introduced—demonstrating how material attributes are shown on-demand, depending on the material settings. Then you will learn how painterly shading attributes finely control and color the lit and unlit parts of objects to your liking. If you prefer a more physically-based workflow, normal shading attributes are introduced, which can be used in addition to the painterly shading attributes to achieve the perfect look. Unlock the potential of Flair’s powerful tools in this tutorial series to create unique, visually stunning animations. Flair is developed for VFX, visualization and 3D animation artists like you.
