Various of eggs decorated STORYLINE: LEAD IN: Decorating eggs is a tradition that has been around for hundreds of years, especially around Easter time. In London, craft lovers are coming together to try their hand at producing exquisitely decorated eggs using wax and natural dyes. STORYLINE: Traditional techniques passed down through generations. Egg decorating is a Romanian tradition that has been around for hundreds of years. Romanians traditionally dye eggs either using vegetable, or more commonly synthetic dye, during the week leading up to Easter. Here at Casa De Folklore, the participants learn to make natural dyes before applying them to the eggs. The eggs are emptied and cleaned before the intricate work on the shell begins. Foraged flowers and leaves imprint the outlines of nature onto the white eggs. "Easter is a huge celebration just as big as Christmas, we go wild for it," explains textile designer and founder of Casa De Folklore, Alice Munteanu. AP video shot by Stephanie Windeler.
