I've been travelling to Cape Town since 1992. That place has changed a lot - in many ways. Some things have changed for the better, some have significantly worsened. For example, the townships have improved significantly. There are fewer shacks now, but far more tiny houses. But crime has increased significantly since Covid. Also the rents have skyrocketed and electricity is only available now and then :) But still is is one of the most beautiful places on earth, even if you are not doing any watersports. It's the perfect place you can travel with your family in our European winter. There are so many things to discover down there. But remember - it is one of the most dangerous places, never travel alone! For us windsurfers it's just a paradise. It doesn't matter if you go lightwind windsurfing with your familiy, windfoiling, hardcore highwind slalom surfing or big wave windsurfing - you have all the conditions in Cape Town. You just need a car to travel to all those beautiful spots.
