Tangerine the Kelpie

Today we talked about Tangerine the Australian Kelpie. Tangerine is almost 8 years old (edit) and has been coming to the farm 3 days a week since our first week over 3.5 years ago. Tangy is a hard working girl who loves her farm trips a little differently to a lot of the other dogs. Tangy is serious about work life and has a strong on-the-job ethic. To her, the farm is a job. Well it’s more than a job, it’s a career that she’s very passionate about, she loves it and takes her role very seriously. She loves having a purpose, structure, rules and most of all she loves information, and Luke is a leader that communicates constantly with the dogs always providing a lot of clear information. Tangy loves to receive it and process it and she’s always watching Luke for signals as to what is next, what’s expected and how to do her job well. Tangy is not here to socialise, weekends are for that, at the farm she’s here to work. Although she’s not one to engage in play with another dog she does make one exception, and one only. Can you guess who? Yes Bandit is the only dog that can get Tangy to go on a coffee break during work time and muck around like puppies. Tangy is fast, agile and highly intelligent. She is highly skilled and like all of our Kelpies is highly impressive with her performance and all round ability at the farm.
