The Story of St. Christopher

St. Christopher is venerated by the Catholic, Orthodox, and Anglican churches as the patron saint of travelers, modes of transportation, storms, and toothaches. While the historical Christopher lived and died in the 3rd century AD, stories about his life were not widely told until the 9th century. The best known of these stories became crystallized for posterity in Jacobus de Voragine's "The Golden Legend," a 13th-century collection of saintly legends. Since then, St. Christopher's tale has been told time and time again by Christians around the world.
