Discover the haunting remnants of World War II in the region surrounding Ålesund, Norway. Join us on a journey to explore historic sites that tell the story of the German occupation and the Norwegian resistance. Highlights: Resistance Museums: Learn about the brave men and women who fought against the German occupation. We go to the less touristed areas around Alesund including Giske and Godoy islands, where we'll explore the viking burial mound, the Alnes Lighthouse, and the coastline. We'll also travel north to the German WWII fort on Bjornoya. We'll make stops at the Rose Church, as well as the home of our guide, Knut. At the end of this video, we'll explore the Norwegian immigration policies as seen from the stories of our two guides, Ate and Knut.
