EGNOS is one of the main European GNSS Programs together with Galileo. EGNOS was conceived for Aviation as the main safety critical application where a failure can cause tens of deaths. Today EGNOS is being also used for multiple applications such as maritime, railway, mapping, agriculture, cell-phones, drones, unmanned vehicles. EGNOS is the European SBAS equivalent to WAAS at USA, SDCM in Russia, KASS in South Korea, MSAS in Japan etc ... The main goal is to provide the user with corrections and statistical parameters to orbit, clock and ionosphere contributions as the major contributors to the position error for airplanes.
