While the science of learning offers huge potential to shape more effective education policies, as well as reforming curricula designs, pedagogical methods, and assessment practices, a major challenge remains: translating this knowledge into meaningful action. A disconnect between global evidence generation and the needs of local and national education systems underscores the importance of adapting scientific insights to the different contexts. This approach holds the potential to enable their successful uptake, adaptation, and use. This Learning Series, "Leveraging the science of learning for education transformation: The role of knowledge brokering for innovating teaching and learning", focuses on the essential role of knowledge brokering in bridging the gap between research, policy, and classroom implementation. It highlights the work of UNESCO’s Global Alliance on the Science of Learning for Education, a global community of practice that brings together scientists, policymakers, and practitioners to foster collaboration, mutual learning, and the co-creation of solutions. In this session, members of the Global Alliance on the Science of Learning for Education will discuss how collaboration, partnerships, and knowledge brokering played a role in the translation and implementation process in their local contexts. Participants will learn about challenges as well as lessons learned.
