Here's a quick video introduction to this fun and easy-to-play instrument. Transcript: Hey, this is Dean. I want to tell you a little bit about this instrument I play, which I call the banjar. I married a couple of design elements from a couple of different instruments into one. I did this to focus on ease of play - and I mean easy! You'll be able to play your first song on the banjar in about 5 minutes! If you haven't played a stringed instrument before, or any instrument, this may be the ideal first one for you. The banjar is designed with the philosophy that an instrument should come to you - should be designed around you - to be easy to play. If you've tried to learn guitar before, you might have noticed that your first weekend trying to learn it, you didn't necessarily come away with even ONE song. Because of its simplicity in its design, I think your first weekend with the banjar will see you performing several songs. And that will inspire you on to tackle all kinds of musical challenges. With the banjar, you leave out what you don't need. You'll notice it has 4 strings (single-pick open G chord), which is great because that's how many fingers you've got to fret the strings with. And that is no accident, it's a match made in heaven. An example song you can play on this can even be played with 1 finger! (Tide Is High) You see?! It only took one finger to do that. If you've ever played Rock Band or Guitar Hero. I play different kinds of songs on this - rock songs, country songs, bluegrass songs, reggae songs. The kinds of chords you can use include major chords, minor Chords, 7th chords, diminished chords, suspended chords, and the occasional 9th chord. If this excites you like it excites me, hit subscribe! (Back on the Train outro)
