Which is to say, it sounds like nothing you've ever heard before. The video takes place in what may be the ghostliest of islands, Banda Neira. Located in a remote sea of the Indonesian archipelago, Banda Neira was once ground zero for the world’s first experiment in corporate extraction. The hunt for this island’s rare spices triggered the European age of exploration, the accidental discovery of the Americas, and inflicted tragic violence upon the indigenous peoples. Directed by Dibal Ranuh of the Balinese multimedia performance studio Kitapoleng, the Nusa Fantasma video was made in collaboration with the crew of the sailing ship Arka Kinari and local creative community of Banda Neira.
