Standard 110V heat gun versus 110V tabletop shrink tunnel. The shrink film being used is a standard 75 ga. polyolefin shrink film with an initial shrink temp. of 270 - 300 degrees F. For the video we allowed the shrink gun operator to have a slight head start, but it was not enough. The shrink tunnel maintains a constant temp. with a continuous belt in-feed. The heat gun produces a lot of heat, but isolated in one area. The gun must be in constant motion to prevent burn holes. All areas of of the product must be exposed to the heat gun for a proper shrink. Heat tunnels require more initial capital than heat guns, but if efficiency is necessary the extra cost is worth it.
