Stiles is onsite to make sure that Derek doesn't die before they get him back to their base in the woods. Once at the base Stiles looks at where Derek is being held and sees Derek being tortured. After Stiles is plagued by nightmares of Derek being tortured he starts to question working with the hunters. When Gerard confronts Stiles, questioning his trust and loyalty, Stiles remembers when he was in the vents and overheard Derek and Kate's conversation about Kate murdering Derek's family. This pushes Stiles over the edge and he breaks Derek out. When in the woods during their escape Allison shoots Derek and then proceeds to aim at Stiles. Chris sees and shoots the bow out of her hand because she was going against the code.
