Reconstructive microsurgery with Augmented Reality In this video, Prof. Markus Küntscher shares his experience with augmented reality technology in gender-affirming surgeries and other areas of plastic surgery such as subcutaneous mastectomies. Professor Markus Küntscher, is the Chief Physician in the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery, at the Evangelische Elisabeth Klink, Director of the Reconstructive Breast Centre in Berlin, and Senior Lecturer at the Heidelberg University. He is specialised in plastic reconstructive, aesthetic and hand surgery. Professor Küntscher describes his first impressions having used the Leica M530 OHX surgical microscope with the patented GLOW800 AR system and why he thinks more microsurgeons will soon use this state-of-the-art technology. He explains how he was amazed to really see how the blood flows through the flap.
