Day 2 – Exploring the Ghettos of Włodawa & Chełm On the second day of my journey, I visit key ghetto locations, including the town of Włodawa and the small city of Chełm. Both played crucial roles during the Holocaust due to their strategic locations. In Włodawa, I explore the historic synagogue and the striking mural painted on the remains of the ghetto—a haunting reminder of its past. Chełm, in contrast, was more built-up and affluent, yet its Jewish community suffered the same tragic fate. Chełm was also the home of Esther Rabb, a survivor whose story has become an important part of my journey.
