Another video that was a VERY long time coming, which is my first proper audio mix of "it's a small world" at Disneyland when they had the 1992 John Debney soundtrack in place of the original, specifically the early years that they had this soundtrack, the mid-90's or roughly 1994, although really any time between 1993-97. This is a full, 20 minute flow through of Disneyland's "it's a small world" in the mid-90's, just after they installed the soundtrack used at Disneyland Paris in place of the original. Of course the original was brought back a decade later in 2003, but this is when they had the Debney soundtrack. The ride as a whole is for the most part similar to how it's always been, although other than the soundtrack there are a few minor and major differences thoughout the ride as well. Specifically, the façade was painted in pastels from 1992-2002, and while the colors looked great, IMO, in the mid-90's, sadly the paint faded very quickly and by the turn of the millennium looked pretty awful, and I am very glad that they repainted it back to the original classic white and gold in 2002 for Disneyland's 50th birthday three years later, which I also prefer to the pastels anyway, although this is merely a matter of opinion. The safety spiels are the same that they were from roughly 1986 until 2002, and part of the Jack Wagner Welcome spiel (c.1976-c.1999) is also still present. The welcome and goodbye rooms are for the most part still the 1980's rainbow version (c.1982-1998), except for the second half of welcome which already had the sea serpent and children of the world (1991-present). There are two English tracks used throughout many rooms (not including British accent from England scene), which are the heavenly chorus (Welcome, South Seas, Finale, and Goodbye), as well as the girls chorus used in East Asia and Africa. While this does make some sense in Africa, it does not make sense in East Asia because it's not the dominant language there. Thankfully they restored the original Japanese audio when they brought back the original soundtrack in 2003. Also, the main theme instrumentlals were used throughout the entire ride during this period as well. While I did like when they did this with the Bobby Hammock soundtrack (c.1976-1993), I don't like it so much here simply because other than Europe and Asia, there are much less unique cultural soundtracks used thoughout North Pole, East Asia, Africa, South America, and South Seas. That is to not say that they are gone entirely, as there are many great tracks from the 1992 Paris soundtrack played throughout the entire ride, but they really could have done a much better job installing more unique soundtracks like they did in both the original/current Disneyland version as well as the original home of the John Debney soundtrack, Disneyland Paris (formerly Euro Disneyland). Despite this, the finale still has the 1980's-2000's colors that were removed in the 2008 refurbishment, and there is several pieces of artwork throughout the whole ride that would later be repainted to slightly (or in some cases moreso) different artwork, mainly in Europe, Latin America, and South Seas. I also want to give a HUGE thanks to The Disney fan cat for letting me use many of the soundtracks from his "it's a small world" 1993 full soundtrack (linked below) in this and many other videos over the last few months, as well as providing a few of the images in this video as well, specifically some of the exterior shots, the single 90's photograph (not video screenshot) of the ducks in finale (18:14), as well as the only actual photograph I've ever seen of the rainbow goodbye room (1990, 18:28). I will also have a c.2000 audio mix (with a very similar John Debney soundtrack) hopefully within the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy this audio mix, and original version (partially inaccurate and horribly out of sync) linked below. I do not own any of the audio or images used in this video.
