It is a management process for delivering successful innovations, often with a "creative" component. Innovation management can also be described as a process of managing change, which includes trying to create a culture of innovation, encouraging teams to be open-minded and creative. Innovation management can also be described as the process of achieving the best outcomes from innovation by recognizing and leveraging opportunities to innovate. Lastly, Innovation management is also the process of managing and developing ideas to create something new and better. There are many companies that have transformed their innovation management by leveraging new technologies while others are struggling to keep up. The key to success in any organization's innovation strategy lies in how well they are able to nurture individual and team creativity. The main objective of innovation management is to find ways to address the needs of your customers in the best way possible. The goal is to keep them coming back and eventually have them become your long-term customers. Innovation management tries to create an environment where people are encouraged to come up with new ideas and not fear failure as they might try out new things. It is not merely about generating new ideas or coming up with a new product. It is about a systematic approach to find and nurture innovation potentials, and a culture that fosters creativity. The structure of an innovation program is composed of three major components: 1. idea generation, 2. idea development, and 3. idea deployment. The first component focuses on how to generate as many ideas as possible through brainstorming sessions, experiments, etc. The second component focuses on making sure that the generated ideas are developed into feasible products with viable business models. And finally, the last component focuses on how to effectively deploy these innovations into the market - through educating customers about them or by providing incentives for employees to use them in their work.
