Moving the needle forward: Key insights on Phase One of the HPV Vaccine Task Force in Ontario

In 2024, the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA), through Immunize Canada, launched the first phase of an HPV Vaccine Task Force in Ontario in response to alarmingly low human papillomavirus (HPV) immunization rates in the province. The Task Force aimed to engage public health professionals in a series of action-oriented discussions and recommend strategies to increase the acceptance of the HPV vaccine among parents and guardians of adolescents aged 17 and under while improving vaccine uptake within this target age group in Ontario. This webinar will discuss the following topics: • Key findings from Phase One of the HPV Vaccine Task Force in Ontario • Next steps to increase HPV vaccination coverage in Ontario’s school-based immunization programs • Critical insights on the importance of adult HPV vaccination This recording will be publicly available until December 31, 2025 . Immunize Canada is a partnership of national non-governmental, professional, health, consumer, government and private sector organizations with a specific interest in promoting the understanding and use of vaccines recommended by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization. The goal of Immunize Canada is to contribute to the control/elimination/eradication of vaccine-preventable diseases in Canada by increasing awareness of the benefits and risks of immunization for all ages via education, promotion, advocacy and media relations.
