Now this drug is actually a drug used in cancer chemotherapy but it also has the potential to kill the cells in an ectopic pregnancy but choosing the patient for medical management of ectopic pregnancy is to be done very carefully. There are certain criteria in terms of sac size and beta hCG. Patient also has to be stable with no change in vitals. They should not have hypotension or tachycardia and along with that the drug should be administered in a hospital setting with medical supervision.
