An adventure to Kosi Bay in northern KwaZulu Natal, South Africa in April 2023. We stayed at Utshwayelo Lodge right at the entrance to the Kosi Mouth Nature Reserve, glamping in a Turtle Tent with electricity, fridge/freezer, kitchenette and en suite bathroom. We explore up the coast on foot, hiking north for 5 kilometers to the South Africa/Mozambique border on the coast. We find an enormous see louse and R50 note on the beach! Hehehe We participate in the 3 Lakes Boat Cruise exploring the Kosi Estuary and lake system - beautiful pink flamingoes, prawns, and snorkeling in the mangroves. Saw many water monitor lizards and had the wind blow our hair back! Lucky was our guide-par excellence who enthralled us with exciting stories dripping with humour! We hike south down the coast in a torrential downpour and miscalculate the tides, arriving back when high tide had filled the estuary. All in all - an absolutely magnificent adventure! With love, Kerry and Michael MisAdventure Team (sometimes with Miss Lucy Adventure Cat! ;-) ) An adventure to Kosi Bay in northern KwaZulu Natal, South Africa in April 2023.
