The Undercount of the US Undocumented Population in the 2020 American Community Survey and Lessons Learned from Ten Years of Democratizing Data On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the Center for Migration Studies (CMS) hosted a webinar and discussion of its latest reports. "Undercount of Undocumented Residents in the 2020 American Community Survey and Estimates and Trends in the Undocumented Population from 2010 to 2020, by US State and Country of Origin" by Robert Warren, examines estimates of the undocumented population residing in the United States from 2010 through 2020, drawn primarily from American Community Survey (ACS) data. It assesses the accuracy of this data and determines that almost one million undocumented residents were excluded from 2020 ACS data. The report also presents trends in the undocumented population over this 10 year period. Read the full report: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1... "Ten Years of Democratizing Data: Privileging Facts, Refuting Misconceptions and Examining Missed Opportunities" by Donald Kerwin and Robert Warren, outlines top-line findings and themes from the more than 30 studies done under CMS’ Democratizing Data project since 2013. It refutes persistent misconceptions about the US undocumented and other noncitizen populations. The report also offers new analyses to support policy recommendations drawn over the last 10 years of the project. Read the full report: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1...
