Day 14 - Camino Frances - Cardenuela Riopico to Burgos

Day 14 - Friday 13th September - Cardenuela Riopico to Burgos- 14km Today was a short and easy, flat walk to Burgos. But after being ejected from the albergue without the promised breakfast - all pilgrims, not just me - the Camino did not provide! Luckily I had a wee cake in my pack but I definitely missed my coffee. Today proved that a good Camino navigation app is an important companion for the modern pilgrim. There were very few arrows marking the new preferred way because vendors on the old way, remove them. Unfortunately the green way has very few services but the extended river walk into Burgos is really lovely (mostly). My app - Wise Pilgrim - is not free but it has consistently outperformed the free apps that many pilgrims use. There were numbers of lost pilgrims today and on the new green route I watched several people head off in the wrong direction. Sadly younger people don’t always listen to seniors… how could my technology possibly be better than theirs 😂 Burgos is a lovely city and I am very excited to be having a day 0/rest day here tomorrow.
