Clifford Algebras II: The Real Case - Dr. William Gollinger

Abstract: In this follow-up to the introductory talk we restrict attention to Clifford algebras over the real numbers, and present the essential structural theorems for a complete calculation. We decompose these algebras as (graded and ungraded) tensor products, which allows the general case to be computed easily from a few atomic ones. We end with the 8-periodicity isomorphisms in the case when the quadratic form is definite, which aids in calculations and will later help us understand the periodicity of KO-theory.
