Background: Over the last few days allied forces have managed to achieve numerous objectives, On May 3rd allied fighters supported by CAP and SEAD flights managed to destroy 5 Russian subs that where being repaired or refueled at the Gadzeyevo sub pens. During that raid an IADS command center was also destroyed. Other successful operations included the destruction of the runway at Ivalo, which is currently still being repaired, and the destruction of the bridge at Utsjoki, which halted the Russian advance along the Northern front. During that same time Russian forces attempted an aircav assault on the Voujarvi airfield, but it was promptly repelled by our forces. Both sides suffered losses, but they were heavier on the Russian side. Situation: Russian forces have continued their advance in the central section of the AO but have been held back in the North for now. Our forces have retreated to more defensible positions on central Finland, holding key bridges that could stop or slow Russian advance. Russian forces are currently amassing armored units in the South near Kuusamo. Reinforcements are in route with the LHA-1 Tarawa battle group, escorting several cargo merchants and carrying a Marine expeditionary unit, steaming NW towards the Norwegian port of ALTA to offload its cargo. On the South, the HMS Invincible battle group, carrying UK ground reinforcements, as well as Harriers, Apaches ,Lynx helos and some Spanish FAMET units (CH-47s and Tigers), is nearing the port of Kemi to unload its cargo. Mission: • Defend the LHA-1 Tarawa battle group from Russian aviation attack. • Destroy four key bridges in central Finland to stop the Russian advance. • Destroy a IADS command center to degrade enemy air defenses. • Destroy Iskander batteries attacking our airfields. • Ambush Russian armored column trying to flank our positions near Utsjoki • Defend the city and airfield of Kuusamo from advancing Russian forces in the South
