Did you panic buy anything? Hoard toilet paper? Or did you judge someone for not socially distancing? But what if they were distant and it just looked like they weren't? Kirsten and Zoe see how images can sometimes give us a false perception and get the real story from that shirtless guy who got COVID-shamed after being photographed by media walking at the beach. #ReputationRehab Subscribe now: http://ab.co/subscribe ___________________________________________ A show that believes people don’t deserve to be consigned to the cultural scrapheap, that most people are more than a punchline, and everyone deserves a second chance. He was panicking. I didn't want to go to work. I wanted to keep the business going, like, for the boys, but I genuinely did not want to be there on a building site. I was wearing masks. I was freaking. You know, I grew up... I grew up with the spectre of HIV hanging over the world. So for me, my level of understanding around, you know, the pandemic potential of things is probably different to other people's. Did you panic buy anything? Maybe a little bit of toilet paper? (LAUGHS) I only bought toilet paper 'cause everyone else was buying toilet paper... and tissues. (LAUGHS) I think I stole a roll from, like, a public toilet. But one of the pub toilets had, like, a roll sitting on top of it, and we like, "Should we put it in our handbag?" And like, "Just take it! Just take the roll." Are you scared of being shamed for taking the toilet paper roll? No, because it's worse to have bulk-bought rolls. Yeah, we panic bought everything. So... (LAUGHS) I bought four taco seasoning packets. Four! Four of them. I just grabbed them. (CHUCKLES) The amount of beans and rice, like, we've got enough stuff in the garage where I could... If Armageddon came, I reckon we could last six to 12 months, probably. (LAUGHS) Easy. Just on beans and rice. So this picture was in the news in March under the headline, "Life's A Beach, Then Thousands Die." What do you think when you see that photo? The drama. Um, well, yeah, it's... it's super crowded. Do you think that shirtless guy is socially distancing properly? No way. No. (SCOFFS)
