Add WiFi to PTAC or heat pump for under $15

WiFi Smart Home Automation for your PTAC heat pump. Many apartment buildings use PTAC heat pumps for both heating and air conditioning. These are through-the-wall 42” standard. I haven’t seen any of these yet that have built-in WiFi control like almost all cheap window ACs. These have to kept off when you are not home or your electric bill will be through the roof. Unfortunately, you come home to a freezing cold or a roasting hot apartment. Now for under $15, a screwdriver and some wires, you can control your PTAC unit through the internet from your phone away from your home. You could also get a Nest or other expensive thermostat that handles heat pumps, but for most people it is overkill. You can just set the PTAC to 73 degrees and use wifi and automation to just turn it on or off when you need it. Please leave any comments.
